Carlo Hornung-Jensen, Rural Scene With Milkmaid & Stable Boy Men It’s a little tatty withA fine early 20th century oil on canvas depicting a rural scene with a milkmaid and a stable boy. Its been beautifully rendered and the flowers in the foreground are particularly nice. Towards the centre of the composition, we see a milkmaid carrying a pail while chatting to a stable boy. She appears to be giving him instructions so perhaps shes the boys mother. The young lad doesnt seem particularly happy about the conversation and we can only wonder
