19th Century Grand Tour Silver Gilt & Marble Desk Weight Book Sets London in 1885An Italian silver gilt and marble Grand Tour desk weight, circa. late 19th century. The carved sienna marble base is surmounted with a silver gilt infant on a bed, possibly after The Birth Of The King Of Rome. Italian hallmarks to the mount. There are some signs of wear commensurate with age throughout, namely a few small chips to the marble in places and tarnishing to the gilt but overall the piece displays well.
