1916 Bourke Street looking West John Lindt The notes from the StateA busy day on Bourke Street, taken in 1916. Looking West along Bourke Street, from down the Swanston Street intersection. From the left on the south side of the street we see the Bull and Mouth Hotel, then Cole's Book Arcade, which ran from Bourke Street all the way to Collins Street. A number of jewellers' shops took up position this side of the Royal Arcade, with the outfitters of London Stores completing the block as it meets Elizabeth Street. On
